Storytime for Threes

Just when Mrs. Amera was planning a spring time story and craft, the weather changed & it began to rain. Thankfully, she works in a library and we have plenty of stories about weather and rain. Stories shared were Rabbits & Raindrops by Jim Arnosky and Red Rubber Boot Day by Mary Lyn Ray. We felt the mist of the rain, danced to Barney's raindrops song, learned a new Raindrop rhyme, and made umbrellas with raindrops. See you soon for our next storytime session!

School Age Story & Craft

First, children enjoyed the story of The Frog with the Big Mouth by Bateman. Then they each had the opportunity to create their own bookmarks with bunnies, grasshoppers, or frogs and slogans like "Spring into the library!" or "Hop into the library!"

Preschool Spring Story & Craft

Last week, Mrs. Amera talked about spring and what happens in the spring. She read Mouse's First Spring by Lauren Thompson to the children and showed the children how to make their own puppet frogs! Children went hopping around the library searching for stories to share with their new puppet friend! You may want to check out Little Quack's New Friend, which is also by Lauren Thompson.

Scrapbooking Night!

Get together, get ideas, & get crafty! All the materials are provided for children to create their own mini scrapbook with pockets! If you're looking to start a new hobby with the kids, start looking in the craft aisle of your local library!

Fingerpainting Fun!

Kids are not use to adults encouraging them to get their hands dirty. Fingerpaint is so much fun, ONLY if you don't mind getting your hands dirty. Their expressions are truely priceless.

Dr. Seuss Party

Oh, the things we did and the fun we had! The Cat in the Hat joined us in celebrating Dr. Seuss's books/work and together we made these popular TALL hats.

Don't wait until Dr. Seuss's next birthday, you can always enjoy his stories, just visit your local LIBRARY!

Storytime for Twos

This week The Cat in the Hat made a special guest appearance and read a birthday story and a kittens story to the children. Stories shared were Spot's Balloon by Eric Hill and Kittens, Kittens, Kittens by Meyers. We sang Happy Birthday and created unique cat hats!

Children also enjoyed leaving with balloons!

Don't forget next week is finger painting!
