Just when Mrs. Amera was planning a spring time story and craft, the weather changed & it began to rain. Thankfully, she works in a library and we have plenty of stories about weather and rain. Stories shared were Rabbits & Raindrops by Jim Arnosky and Red Rubber Boot Day by Mary Lyn Ray. We felt the mist of the rain, danced to Barney's raindrops song, learned a new Raindrop rhyme, and made umbrellas with raindrops. See you soon for our next storytime session! 
First, children enjoyed the story of The Frog with the Big Mouth by Bateman. Then they each had the opportunity to create their own bookmarks with bunnies, grasshoppers, or frogs and slogans like "Spring into the library!" or "Hop into the library!"
Last week, Mrs. Amera talked about spring and what happens in the spring. She read Mouse's First Spring by Lauren Thompson
to the children and showed the children how to make their own puppet frogs! Children went hopping around the library searching for stories to share with their new puppet friend! You may want to check out Little Quack's New Friend, which is also by Lauren Thompson.

Oh, the things we did and the fun we had! The Cat in the Hat joined us in celebrating Dr. Seuss's books/work and together we made these popular TALL hats. 
and Kittens, Kittens, Kittens by Meyers. We sang Happy Birthday and created unique cat hats!
