Act-Out Strega Nona

This summer children in grades K - 3 shared in a special creative drama experience with Joey from Youth Stages, LLC workshop. "Creative drama takes children's natural world, creative play, and develops it further, using theatre techniques, to create learning experiences which are for the participants." During this program children participated in a welcoming name game led by Joey, listened to Strega Nona by Tomi DePaola, then performed the story for their parents.

Later that week Joey came back and led another special program, Theater Games, for children in grades 4 - 7. This program followed a similar format, but in addition to the welcoming name game, he demonstrated physical, vocal, and imagination warm-ups while introducing acting terms and techniques.

A special thank you to the Friends of the Woodbridge Public Libraries for sponsoring this wonderful program.

LOOK what I learned from a BOOK!

On August 8th, after Mrs. Amera's Balloon Sculpting program, Brianna checked out The Ultimate Balloon Book. Less than a week later, she generously shared this photo with us.

Can you tell what she made?

Great Job! Can't wait to see what else you'll learn from our wonderful selection of books! (face painting, cooking, crafts, magic tricks, etc.)

Preschool Storytime
