Time for Threes

Last week children listened to DRAGON stories, such as Little Ones Do! by Jana Hunter and Who Wants a Dragon? by James Mayhew. They learned a new dragon rhyme and made their own dragons. These dragons all love to hear stories about princesses and castles and heroes and car and bad guys and the list goes on!

The dragon rhyme goes like this: 5 little dragons

5 little dragons went out to play, over the hills and far away; mother dragon said, "It's time for you snack!" but only 4 little dragons came back. (repeat with 4,3, 2, 1,) then Worried mother dragon began to breathe fire, but the tears she shed made the fire expire; Mohther dragon said, "It's a really good snack!" And all of the 5 little dragons came back.

Believe it or Not...

The three year olds enjoyed the monsters at the Iselin Libray so much that they took some home.

Together we learned a Monster rhyme called Five Scary Monsters (adapted folk rhyme): 5 scary monsters howling out a roar,
1 ran away, & then there were four.
4 scary monsters hiding in a tree,
1 fell out, & then there were three.
3 scary monsters eating spider stew,
1 got sick, & then there were two.

2 scary monsters having lots of fun,
1 ran off, & then there was one.
1 scary monster, afraid to be a hero,
he ran away, & then there were zero.
There are plenty of monsters at the library but all our monsters are sure to make you smile.

Come on in and check them out!
