Create an Underwater Scene

Creative kids created underwater creatures!

Library Mouse: Story, Snack, & Craft!

Library Mouse by Daniel Kirk has inspired many new authors and illustrators in Woodbridge! After listening to the story, children had a chance to put together their own mini book, then created titles and illustrations for their new book. After all their hard work creating new books, children enjoyed some cookies and juice!

Summer Reading Kick-Off

This year the Woodbridge Public Library hired Goowins Balloowins to kick-off our Summer Reading Club (Make a Splash Read!). During this event several traditional stories were shared and acted out by the children, costumes were quickly hand-made, and everyone walked out with something. Let's just say Goowins Balloowins was storytelling with a twist!

Time for TOTS!

Time for Tots is always a pleasure, children between the ages of 12 -24 months begin to experience the joys of storytime. Surrounded by children their age, tots tune in when Mother Goose's famous rhymes are shared.

Oh no, Little Bo-Peep has lost her sheep!

Just can't put this book down!

Gavin's begging for one more story!

Ethan picked out his 1st book & couldn't wait to start browsing!

Everyone spent some quality time with their loved ones!

Rock'n Library

On May 19th, children enjoyed singing and dancing to our local guitarist, Miss Kristen Mullen's tunes! Together we enjoyed some classic children songs, such as, I've been working on the railroad & The More We Get Together. Children participated in creating lyrics to "Down by the Bay" & enjoyed dancing to the Hokey Pokey tune altering our body parts to represent parts of the guitar (ex. head, neck, tuners (ears), ribs, saddle, sound hole (mouth),etc.) Our fun didn't stop here, children decorated their own unique guitars!! Leaving with smiles, lyrics, and tattoos!

Diary of a Wimpy Kid Party

At the Woodbridge Public Library, many children have been enjoying Jeff Kinney's Diary of a Wimpy Kid series, so we decided it was time to have a PARTY!

Children enjoyed an afternoon of fun! Activities included drawing your favorite character(s), creating your own diary or journal, testing their memories at our trivia table, stopping for snack time, and what's a party without a CHEESE TOUCH game? (similar to hot potato with a foam cheese) EVERYONE LEFT WITH A :O)
