Read to a Pet

This month we welcomed Kayleigh(Golden Retriever) and Cupcake(Jack Russell Terrier) to the Iselin Branch Library. Each reader had a different way of reading to their dog. Some stood, some sat, some showed the dog the pictures while they read, others waited until the page was done then showed the pictures, some readers were dog lovers, while other readers were hesitant to approach the dogs. Whether this was the child's first experience reading to a dog or their third, they all enjoyed this program! Look for more photos on our Facebook page.

Back-To-School

After listening to Amelia Bedilia's first day of school by Herman Parish and Will I have a Friend? by Miriam Cohen; children cut, colored, & created their own crayon box.

FALL Favorites!

Children enjoyed listening to Mouse's First Fall by Thompson and Fall Leaves Fall by Hall. Ready or not Autumn begins today! Visit your library, check out some or your favorite stories, & share some fall favorites with someone special.

Book Club

This month at the Iselin Branch Library we started a BOOK CLUB! Our club takes place once a month, on a Friday from 3:30 - 4:30pm. There is no registration for this program. Children between grades 3 - 7 are welcome to join the fun!

Each month Mrs. Amera will choose an author of the month. Then we might talk about the author, the author's books/ illustrations, the style the author wrote in, genre, etc. Together we might make cards for the author/illustrator, we might draw/write about one of our favorite books/series for our display, you might meet new people, and if your lucky you might check out one of our NEW books! Everyone gets a chance to share their opinion and share their favorite or not so favorite book/author/series/etc.

Our September author of the month is Jon Scieszka. If you're in the mood to laugh, read or re-read some of your favorite stories.

If you missed this month's program stop in next month between 3:30 - 4:30pm on Friday, October 7th!
